Default High Temperature Masking Tape

Does anyone know where I can get high temperature masking tape for powder coating? I would like to be able to order it online in single rolls of different widths. Eastwood has it, but it's quite expensive and I was looking for other supplyers that might have it cheaper. Too bad Caswell doesn't carry it or I would buy it from them when I buy my powder coat paints.
Thanks,
Brian Williams

Try www.columbiacoatings.com. They have 1/2", 3/4", 1", and 2" wide high temp masking tape. It is in 72 yard roles.

Woven fabric electrical tape works. You may get some adhesive transfer that will need to be wiped off. Demasking prior to curing works well in some applications. You can use traditional masking tape for that.

I tried that, and it worked well for me. Regular good quality 3M masking tape will come off clean and easy when you want it to. I also left a couple of small pieces on (by mistake), and they survived just fine.

I often use aluminum foil for masking... It may not give as nice an edge as tape, but it works well for 90% of my parts. You can even roll it up into a ball and use it instead of a plug.
Also used some green mylar tape....mfd by 3M, got mine from work.

Default Aluminum Foil Masking

We often use aluminum foil to mask large areas. We use tape for the parting edges and to hold the foil in place. Much quicker and less expensive than trying to mask a larger area with all tape.

There are aluminum foil tapes too, but typically expensive and bad about adhesive transfer to the product if run through the cure cycle.
