Thanks for the replys. I done work for this guy a couple times and I explained all the set backs of doing powder to exhaust. But he still wants them done instead of jetcoat...I bought caswell hi temp and will shot the parts soon, I post results so others will have this information.
I did a search about it but information is to hazy, any one have a good prep work for these headers...They are cast and figure I blast and degrease, then out gass for a hour then coat, anything else?

Hey if they are cast do you mean they are just exhaust manifolds?? If they are you can coat them.. Headers are usually made of steel not cast iron.....
Exhaust Manifolds are alot thicker than the thin steel of a header tube..

you are correct, they are manifolds. So manifold should hold up better, thanks. I beleive they are a stock monte carlo stock header.

Yes regular manifolds should hold up to the temp just because they are alot thicker than the very thin steel that headers are made of....... Atleast thats what I have found out from asking the same questions before..... Hope this helps out.....

Since we were so giving in advice I tell you how this ended...The ones on the car were manifolds, the ones I would powdercoat were headers...I explaind that it might not work and offered different solutions. They declined and wanted to stay with power. I offered no warrenty and gave it a shot, lucky they came out excellent. Powder covered everywhere and they been fired many times now, and stayed the original color.
After I used the "modify" gun from these forums It seems I can do nothing wrong, really great feeling givin my small amount of experiance. Thanks for caswell for a nice product, forums where we can learn and everyone on here that offers advice, thanks.
