The chrome plater I use will not plate a chrome exhaust for me.He says the carbon and oil will contaminate his tanks.Any suggestions?

The oil can be dealt with however the carbon can embed itself in the exhaust, that's standard practice for a plater to turn down. You'd be best off to powder coat / ceramic coat them. If you post a request, I'm sure plenty of guys on the site here can quote you to have it powder coated.

Yeah, the EPA killed a lot of replating jobs when they took away our Carbon-Tet.

excuse my ignorance , but does ceramic coating look like chrome ?

if we need to send a zorst off to be re-chromed, we degrease and then vapour blast . we havent had any issues with our platers
