Default Copy Chrome.......

I would like to get someone to copy chrome some parts for me as samples before I take a dive and buy everything to setup a 50 gallon system.

If anybody is within an 1hr drive of me all make the drive to drop the parts off and check out a setup.

I'm famil. with chrome plating now since I use to do bumpers,etc.. tons of motorcycle at a dif. Co I use to work at... I could get into and use coper/nickle/chrome but......I'm really interested in this copy chrome as said to do a 50g setup for Just my motorcycle stuff.

anyways Im in Ohio. 44438 and will drive 1hr if anybody is around. If not I'll ship some already preped alum brackets and pegs. and a few steel pieces. All you have to do is plate.

Please feel free to give me a call at 330-719-5167

Thanks
Chris

Chris,

Copy Chrome is an excellent alternative to the Triple Chrome and I am disappointed to see that some of the more experienced metal finishers here on the forum haven't jumped at this opportunity.

If I had a little bit more experience with plating onto aluminum, I would be more than happy to do a couple of pieces for you.

I have used Copy Chrome on a lot of indoor and outdoor decorative items made mostly of steel with excellent results.

The finish is durable and has the look and feel of true chrome plate when done properly.

I also have a Triple Chrome set-up because a lot of people expect 'real' Chrome plate for their money, but when I show them the Copy Chrome samples and explain that it is less expensive to operate and causes a lot less headaches for me, then they usually will opt for it instead.

If you still don't get any offers in the next few days, shoot me an e-mail and we can work something out.

Curtis,

Thanks for the response. Everything Ive read and seen pic's of look good. But I'm still the type who would like to see something done.

like you said I still have access to plate using nic/chr. when ever I need to but I would love to setup a 50g Copy chrome tank at another shop I have to dedicate to just all the cycle stuff I do.

Id deff. be interested in sending you a few steel pieces if your game.(alum also if your willing to give em a try.) As I said everything will already be preped and ready to plate.

How big of a tank do you have?

Again Thanks for the response. Something is better then no posts at all.

My set-up includes...
10 Gallons each of Flash Copper, Acid Copper, Nickel and Chrome
5.0 Gallons of Silver Solution
2.5 Gallons of Black Oxide w/ Penetrating Sealer
3.0 Gallons of Zincate
3.0 Gallons of Copy Chrome
10 Gallon SP Degreaser Tank
A Plug-n-Plate Workshop Kit
Plus a countless number of Pickles & Acids.

I'm up for doing a couple of pieces just so you can see what the overall finish looks like. I'll do steel and aluminum providing that they will fit into my tanks. I am going to add to the Copy Chrome tank quantity to make it 10 Gallons in the near future.

A 50 Gallon set-up would be quite the business opportunity. I wish that I had room for what I have now. One day I will build a real shop, one day in the far future, that is....maybe as a retirement present to myself.

Right now I'm pretty backed up with the business from the local Antique Mall. Word got out that I Silver-plate, and oh boy!

my e-mail address is ashcroft01@cox.net

Hope to hear from you soon.

Hey Curtis,
Would you know how copy chrome holds up to heat? I am thinking of getting some header pipe nuts done for my motorcycle.
