Hey guys, great forum you got here. I am looking to have a small batch of about 35 aluminum motorcycle parts anodized gold. A lot if not most of the parts are cast, some are machined. I know from reading the forum that the cast pieces do not always come out well. I do know that others have had the same parts anodized and all came out looking, great. Though they are usually done in black, or red, or blue.
Here is a picture of all the parts I am wanting done. Basicly foot pegs, mounts, brackets etc etc.

Here is what I am afraid I am going to end up with if I go with one of the larger companies who will just through them in the vat and not care to much how they come out:
I realize that the latter set of pictures is a more true representation of "gold" but these parts are needed to be closer to that more orange colored gold. If the job comes out good, there is probably some potential, though not a ton, of other guys looking to have their parts anodized through you as well. At that point I would be more then happy to advertise where I had the work done. Thanks for taking the time to look and if you feel you can help me out please reply. As stated before though I am looking for someone experienced that can get the results I am after! Thanks! Derek |

Derek,
I was once a plating engineer for Surtronics, Inc in Raleigh, NC. (www.surtronics.com). Their anodizing operators have 20+ yrs experience and are very good. I would highly recommend them. Tell them you were referred by Shane. They will give you the results you are looking for. Good luck! |

Shane I have sent them an email from their website. Hopefully they can help! I have been to numerous places locally and no one can help me. I see all kinds of pictures on this site of guys anodizing at home and getting the exact color I am looking for! I don't know the first thing about it but I guess if worse comes to worse I could by the caswell starter kit and give it a go.. kind of an expensive way of getting it done though.
Thanks for the tip, I will let you know what I hear back from them. Derek |
