    Zn plating and magnets

    I'm a long time reader here, but just a hobbyist restorer with a small Zn plating setup.

    I have a car wiper motor body I need to Zn plate that has ferrite(?) permanent magnets bonded inside. They are impossible to remove without breaking as they are very brittle....

    Dyed looks good when wet

    Tried my 1st couple parts. Followed the manual. The parts look perfect olive drab as what dye was used when their wet. When dry it turns a purplish chameleon color until it's wetted again then back to the correct color. Thoughts?
