  • *******----------FIBERGEEK HAS PASSED AWAY!------------*****

It is with deep regret I have to inform everyone on this forum that Paul Yursis, known here as FIBERGEEK, passed away yesterday. He had been diagnosed with Luekemia a few months ago, and consequently his posts ceased at that time.

Paul was a genius, his knowledge of electronics and anodizing will stand this company in good stead for years to come. Let's face it, Paul revolutionized 'small time' anodizing, making it pretty much a fool-proof operation for the average guy. He alone developed the LCD anodizing system for us. It shook many a professional anodizer with it's simplicity and reliablity. Paul also developed the SPUTWELDER. We were very fortunate to have 'passed this ship in the night'.

As soon as we have details of Paul's funeral arrangements, we will send an appropriate wreath 'To Fibergeek' from Caswell Inc and The Anodizing Forum'.

Please leave any comments here, and I will ensure they are forwarded to his wife Olga.

I am going to miss Pauls direction. What a terrible loss of a brilliant mind.

In the short time I have known Paul through the Finishing Forum he has helped me to learn and was a person that would always seem to be there when you needed help. No words can describe the loss that will be felt from his absence. My condolences to his loved ones.
          Sincerely,
          Steve Sweeney

After checking the forum last night I was deeply saddened to read that Fibergeek passed away. I joined the forum last November knowing completely nothing about anodizing. My post to the forums where simple questions at first concerning tank temperatures, voltage/current settings, acid circulation and so on. When Fibergeek answered my newbie questions he would always go one step further than just a simple answer. He would devise exercises and experiments telling me to take notes and post them for review and he would always go over the results giving me a better understanding of the process. With Fibergeek it was always a first rate course in anodization.

I am well past 50 years of age and I have lost many members of my family and friends. But I have never known someone only through the internet that has passed away. When I read the posting that Fibergeek passed on I was deeply saddened.

I am going to miss your clever, informative and friendly postings Paul.

                  God bless
