I have a Caswell LCD anodizing set-up that I'm getting set-up , in the manual it says to put the 200w adjustable heater in the anodizing tank,,why? It says the tank should operate at 60-75f, if that is so why would you need the heater in this tank?

Re: newbie just getting set-up
Maintaining tank temperatures is one of the most important tasks associated with setting up an ano line. Here are the temps I shoot for:
Ano: 68F to 70F
Stripper: ~70F
De-Smut: 100F to 120F
SP degreaser: ~140F
Dye: 138F to 142F
Sealer: BoilingI do things.

Re: newbie just getting set-up
Some have their tank in a larger tank and use ice to cool the tank. A fan blowing over the tank. Can be difficult to regulate temp. I use a $100 110V AC window unit blowing into a cooling box made of scrap materials. (pics in album) Acidrain has a homemade heat exchanger to control temp and then there is the aquarium chiller for about $400. The heat exchangers or chillers need a pump to circulate the electrolyte which can eliminate the need for air pumps to agitate the electrolyte but one rated for acid start out around $200 and go up unless you can find one on Ebay.
