I am interested in plating some vintage costume jewelry where the original rhodium finish has come off. Which plate would I use? Chrome, Silver? a combination? Thanks. Mary Rose Van Fleet

Is the base metal exposed, and if so, what is the base metal.

Silver would probably give you the best look, but you may need to plate with other processes first, depending on the base metal.

Sometimes the base metal is exposed and sometimes not. I suppose if I want an even look, I should remove all of the original rhodium? Usually the base metal would be a pot metal or similar alloy.
