I'm getting dull black spots on my nickel plating that are impossible to buff out? anybody know what they are.I,ve double checked all my settings (amperage,temp).The part is fully polished before it goes in bath but when it comes out its shining on one side of the piece and has random dark dull spots on the other.I have stripped it several times and started over with the same results.Help!!!!

Important questions, what is your base metal steel, brass, diecast?
It appears to be brass! If brass, sometimes lead in the brass material will diffuse through the nickel plating casing black spots. If you copper plate a layer, polish and then nickel plate. If no black spots appear it was your base metal. Just a trouble shooting tip before you toss your nickel out.

Could be contamination of other metals in the tank. Dummy plate before you try any more pieces.
