Everyone, just a note on a potential problem car to add to you "Problem Car List"
1978 Cadillac Sedan De Ville color Light Blue Metallic vehicle in original mint condition, factory paint and roof:
-When stripping chrome the silver in the metallic portion of the blue-metallic paint "disappears"
leaving behind nice blue paint.... MINUS the metallic!!!
-The Vinyl roof seems to incorporate the same metallic "tint" so it matches the car BUT..... when stripping the scripts, which are mounted to the vinyl, on the rear sail panels, the vinyl looses its metallic leaving behind a BEAUTIFULLY clean, but beautifully BLUE ONLY color, once again, minus the metallic "effect"
.
-Either remove scripts before plating
or bust your but masking WATER TIGHT around them
!!!
Good luck!!!!!
