  • Plating Through Electro-etch Stencil

Is it possible to use my plug-n-plate kit with my stencil that I currently use with my electro-etch equipment? I'd like to put my logo on a knife blade that I plan to have hot blued. Thought gold or nickel would look nice. Should I plate before or after bluing?

    Thanks,
    Mike

Seeing as you have both components already, then it looks like you can answer this yourself quite easily.

I can't see any reason whey it won't work, we it's never been tried here.

Please let us know how it works out.

I'll do some experimenting and get back to you. I really think that on blued steel, a gold-plate logo would look sharp. My fear is that the plating may "creep" under the stencil and get fuzzy. Only one way to find out...
