  • Please see my electroforming pics and suggest a solution

Hello, I hope this is the correct place to post this. I'm new to electroplating and only got into it as a hobby after seeing all the interesting electroforming items people are making. I'm a chemist so it was pretty easy for me to obtain the required chemicals and put together a solution of copper sulfate pentahydrate with sulfuric acid. I also read some patents and based on them I added a few drops of HCl and a tiny bit of ammonium chloride. I'm using Caswell copper paint on leaves, and trying to plate. Please see the pics for the results I'm consistently getting.

Tried varying amps and time, more/less layers of paint, etc. Almost same results every time. I would love some suggestions on how to fix this before I give up altogether.

    Thanks!

Unfortunately I have no answers for you. If it was our Kit we could narrow down the issues, being a home made set up there are to many variables.
