im making some pattern welded steel rings. basically the modern day version of damascuss. and wish to gold plate them ive read and know i need to nickle plate first. my question is this how well will the plug and plate system hold up to the oils and everyday use that (jewelry) is exposed to? these will be custom made wedding rings for me and my wife and im not opposed to replating every few years if i don't have to send them out and wait for them back.but i don't want to replate every 2 months either.
