Hi,
I’ve been trying to copper electroplate some fig nuts. They are basically just little round balls, nothing fiddly. I had no problems electroplating brass so I advanced to fig tree nuts. The first attempt I sealed it with Electrosealer before painting on the paint as I was instructed. The sealer however made it impossible to apply the paint uniformly as the paint seemed repelled by the surface which resulted in rivelets everywhere. No amount of painting the nut could fix this. I attempted to electroplate the nut by wrapping copper wire around it. I am in no doubt that they were firmly connected. What happened was the copper plated but not the nut.
So I contacted the bloke I bought it off and he didn’t want to reply.
The next attempt was painting the paint directly onto a nut without the sealer. The paint went on very nicely this time and completely covered the object. I did the same procedure, firmly wrapping the nut in copper wire. Same result, copper wire plated and nut did not.
Should I buy a completely new type of conductive paint?
Had anyone else had this issue?
