My question is this I have some large pieces of aluminum I want to triple chrome plate the size is roughly 6" x 14" and I need to plate only one side what size triple chrome plate kit do I need and what amp rectifier should I buy if this works out I'd like to plate this size on a steady basis.I'm impressed with your company and am located right in Rochester N.Y. Please advise.

Re: Plug n plate kit for bathroom faucets ?

Chrome plating requires 1-1.5 amps per square inch.

If your part is 6 in x 14 in = 84 square inchs, one side only, right? That means around 100-125 amps will be required.

The size of the kit really only changes the amount of solution you get and the size of the tanks, so, take your part, immerse it in two gallons of water. If you can submerge it completely, you can use a 2 gallon kit.

The problem for you will be getting that much power.

Well, you could buy a rectifier, but you don't have to. There are other power options available that are more complex than just plugging in a rectifier, but are much cheaper.

I'm not sure I understand your reference to the 16 gallon kit? If the part will fit in a 2 gallon kit, then it will naturally fit in any kit larger than 2 gallons
