  • nickle/cpchrome air agitation

    hola hola!
how critical is the air agitation for the nickle/ copy chrome process?
i/e: should the bubbles be applied directly over the piece to be plated, or are the currents generated by the bubbles anywhere in the tank sufficient?

    cheers!

You should use air agitation always to ensure that the part does not pit during the plating process.

Should you use air agitation in all triple chrome tanks?the flash and bright copper tanks? Can too much agitation interfere with the plating process?

      Thanks.

Air should be used but i have seen electric motors used with off set shafts like a car wiper motor to move the bar back and forth accross the top of the tank wich keeps the part moving in the tank

That sounds a good idea, although i think i will opt for the bubbler (just to keep thing simple) Thanks for that!

Now as for me I use a dual quick connect at my compressor with a air shut off valve on one side this way I can control the air flow to the tank . This works great for larger systems
