  • What is the best way to mask threads and holes?

I am about to start plating after weeks of polishing. My first parts have alot of threads and holes that cannot change diameter, and one part is a master cylinder where I don't want to get plating inside. I am using the copy chrome and wanted to know what was resistant to the solutions and the plating. I thought plastic like what is on the buckets would work, not really sure. Thanks in advance.

any type plastic plugs will work well there is also tape specific for plating you can use to cover threads. i believe caswell sells a kit with various sizes of plugs.

      Green slime...

Caswells also sells a green plastic substance that you can paint on the part, plate, and then remove with laquer thinner. I just finished plating some motorcycle parts with it, and will report on my success or failure here in a little while.
