    Yep. That's how Boron Nitride is plated onto friction surfaces. Most require special processing as a method to keep the compound suspended and attracted to the item to be plated. It usually requires special storage procedures too.

    Steve,
    There new formations of electroless-nickels that venture into the Composite world. Yes, there are electroless nickel formations that add diamonds, nano tubes, etc.. for strenght and abrasion properties. You need to read up more about this which is very interesting subject.

    Is it possible to mix very finely ground material into the EN plating solution have have it be co-deposited on the metal along with with the nickel coating?

    Steve:
    You dont want to mix anything into the EN solution. You will contaminate it that way.
    The nickel that comes out of the EN is in the ionized form.
    So mixing other metals in with it will only pollute it.
    EN is a very fine balence of chemicals, try to keep it clean.
