  • copper/chrome plating

i was wondering if the copper/chrome combo kit is a good way to start chroming car parts. is it ok to not have a nickel plating step in the process? will the chrome not stick as well to copper? also, what are the differences (besides procedure and equipment) to the electroless and anode type systems? what are the pros and cons of each?
    thanks, justin

    Re: copper/chrome plating

The chrome will adhere fine to the copper plate, but the chrome gets a lot of its color from the underlying nickel plate. If you want an authentic chrome plate, it\'s best to use the nickel.

Besides the procedure and equipment, there are no differences between electroless and anode systems. The end result is exactly the same.
