How many parts

If I get the mini nickle kit, and the max size it allows is 30" (I'm assuming surface area) and my part is 30", is the kit exhausted after the one part, or can it be reused for many more 30" or smaller parts.

The kit comes with extra solution so you can replenish. You will need to be replenishing the nickel in the bath while you are plating your 30 sq in part, so the nickel level doesn't fall below the critical level.

How will I know when the crucial level is being attained?

The manual explains this, but you must precalculate the amount of nickel that the part will use, based on surface area and plating time, and mix up sufficient replenisher ready to use.
