  • Gold PCB Edge connectors

I would like to plate approximately 0.000200 nickel and then 0.000030 gold on copper PCB edge connector pins. I only have about 100 connectors to do for a hobby project so time is not a problem. Can I use the plug and plate system and get the plating thicknesses that I want and the durability that I would need or would I be better off with one of the other kits?

Yes, Plug N Plate will work fine. Just keep testing your thickness and apply more if required.

      2) If I want to tin plate all of the printed circuit board except the edge connector where the gold over nickel will be, what sequence would you recommend?

Not really - if you don\'t already have the equipment to do that, it\'s quite expensive.

I assumed from your precise thickness requirements that you had a way to measure this already.

You can use a masking liquid to mask off whichever sections you don\'t want tin plated. See http://www.caswellplating.com/maskit.htm
