silvachrome vs. vaccum plating

How well does silvachrome duplicate the appearance of o.e. vaccum plated interior parts (instument bezels, arm rest bases, etc.), or is chrome plating the only way to go?

SilvaChrome does a good job of duplicating a chrome finish and is much easier to apply over non-conductive items than a chrome plate.
