  • using Flash Copper for buildup?

I am plating a small (8" by 10") steel plate. It is already in good shape, with minor scratches. Can I use Flash Copper as a build-up coat to avoid the acid step? I will be putting nickel over the finished plate. Thank you!

Yes you can use flash copper to build up but flash copper dose not have the same build up qualities as acid copper so the process takes longer run you piece in you F/C then remove sand lightly and copper again repeat this process until the scratches are filled a faster way would be to polish them out

If you want to, you can polish the nickle some, to get out small scratches. But its best to polish the piece before you start plating, then put a light coat of flash copper and so on.
