Brazing electroplated copper??

Does anyone know if there is a way to braze on steel plate that has been copper plated? I've heard there can be problems with the copper pulling away from the steel. The steel plate would be between 1/4" and 3/4" thick.

Is there some process or formula that would make the copper stick? It would also have to be chemical free and safe for potable water.

The problem you will have is heat, due to the amount of heat you need to braze will cause the copper to let loose from the steel.. the best thing to do is remove the copper and then braze...
