  • Removing old plating

Hi all, new to this forum and have a question? I want to replate an item(small clock part) and the nickel is flaking off. I believe it's brass(machined threads on the inside) and want to replate. How to remove the nickel that's on there now so I can polish and ready for plating? Thanks, Jerry
No onw person can know everything about everything, but if you know where to find it, it's just as good. God bless the USA

Using an acid pickle made from diluted battery acid and a stainless steel or lead sheet, you can reverse plate the nickel. This technique is described in detail in our plating manual.
