  • Measuring plating tank temperatures

My aquarium thermometer doesn't go to 120F needed for flash copper. Is it okay to drop a bare Type J thermocouple in the bath to accurately measure temperature? I'm affraid of contaminating the solution or getting bad readings due to the currents applied by the anode.

    Stick to glass thermometers.

Get a candy thermometer that is sealed on both ends at the grocery store.
If it has a plastic cap on the top end keep it out of the solution by hanging it on the side.
