Pickling?

I have a piece of steel I plated with nickel the other day, its been sitting for a couple of days do I have to dip it in a pickle before I plate with copper or can I just clean it and plate copper right away?

You can plate copper directly onto nickel. No need to pickle. You only need to pickle if you want to plate nickel onto nickel.
