i read that a glass container is better than the plastic that the kits come in because it will slowly eat away the plastic. Im assuming if it slowly eats away plastic will it eat away the silicon that usually makes square glass containers water prof?

i was thinking about making a 9inch wide fish tank like container to do valve covers but not sure about the sealer i can use.
i like the idea of a glass container so that i can see the plating coverage on the part.

    Re: container

The acid in the plating solution will etch the glass. You are better off just sticking with PP or PE containers. I have had no issues with the plastic being etched away.
