we did use alodine, but only for the baseplates for some reason, i cant recall... different metal obviously.

definatly used dichromate after an acid etch..... and it definatly wasn't connected to an electrode..... oh well, wish i would have realized then that i might want to understand what was going on.

I think as long as you prep the part the Black Chrome will work and look great

    Weber DCOE carb plating suggestion....

Alright... i do have some background and experience working with carbs. Primarily holley carb body/dichromate. The weber carb body however doesn't come in that gold finish... and the material does machine a bit differently. It looks like the copy cad/zinc kit would suffice... however, in my past experience we had never used power supply/anode/cathode... believe it was electroless.... comments, suggestions... am i going crazy in my old age

will the black chromate work as well (as the yellow/gold) on these cast carb bodies?

    Thanks,

    Matt
Working...
