    Motorcycle fork tubes

Hello all, I have a set of Honda fork tubes that I am pretty sure are billet and I want to polish them. From what I understand there is a clear coat of some type that has to be removed in order to get to the metal. Is anyone familiar with this process that can provide some direction, as I have no idea where to even start ?

Good catch. I believe most Hondas have a chrome piece that covers the male part on the upper lower. Oh and also, DO NOT get acetone anywhere near the fork seal. Trust me, 15 ounces of iol per fork is not cheap.

    Laters,
    Ken

I'd like to make sure we're talking about the same part. You mention billet, if you're talking about the male part you can't polish it to the finish you desire without ill effects. If it's the female part it should go just as Jycorro said.

I own a Honda Sabre and my fork tubes were clear coated. I used acetone then polished like any aluminium.
