  • re: newby advice please

    Hi,

I am just starting out and looking into a 6" bench polisher for my garage and hoping it will suit my needs. I will be polishing mostly motorcycle and classic car parts, i have read through all of the info i can find but any further tips and advice for instance on bench set ups or anything else useful would be most grateful.
i also understand polishing can be a fairly messy process, may have to find a new home for my motorbike!!
The last polishing i done was on a old dull suzuki intruder, mostly by hand and with my dremel my good old faithful dremel did die due to the weeks of constant use lol
    Thanks
    Gary

Most bench grinders are high speed-low torque, the opposite of a good buffing machine. You would be much happier with a cheap bench mandrel and a used Craig's List electric motor.
