  • Angel Grinder Too Fast?

Setting up to polish motorcycle wheels. Looking at a small angle grinder to use but the max rpm is 11000. With a 4"'wheel that give me a surface speed of 11000 fm. Way above the 7200 ideal speed.

A 7" grinder is slower but will still significantly over 7200 rpm and is a ton heavier.

My my compressor isn't big enough to feed air tools so can't go that route just yet n

    Looking for feedback.

    Mike

Found a mediocre fix. Router speed controller from Harbor Freight.

I have two slow speed tools.

This is a 1200 rpm Makita polisher that I adapted a DA pad to fit.

This is my all time favorite. It is a Chicago Pneumatic Polisher. Max speed is 2500 rpm.
