today after i had equipment failure i had to pull out a old motor i had laying around ,, it is a 3/4 hp but with 1750 rpm after my trip to home depot to buy some wiring stuff .. i got it up and running .. but what i have seen is that with the lower rpm i still run a 8" buff the part has less scratches .. and it run's cooler .. as to where i was running my 3450 rpm machine it was getting down quicker but i had more marks ... well this is what happen to the top of my stand ..
and all i can say is the machine is shot it bent the shaft on the left side
I will toss up some pic of the part's done with the higher rpm and the lower rpm so yens can see what i am talking about
