  • Ten-Thousand, Seven-Hundred, Eighty-One..........

......and One-Quarter. That's the SFPM on my "shop made" buffer. I replaced the 1 hp 1750 rpm motor with a 1 hp 3450 rpm motor and I was limited on the pulley size. The 1750 was a little on the flimsy side, thought it was going to throw the belt a couple of times. I made a few passes on my s/s exhaust pipe after I got it installed and I like what I see so far. Fixin' to go try some aluminum after I finish this cold beverage. I'll let ya'll know how it comes out. Shiny I hope!

i know what you mean my rig runs at about 9000sfm w/ 10" wheels and i get great results. i dont know if you have tried vented wheels but it seems to work better for me the regular spiral wheels, they seem to hold up to more pressure and last longer. keep us posted on the results of the new motor
when in doubt polish it out/ why replace it when you can refinish it

I buffed the rest of the exhaust pipe using a spiral/green combo and it took a while but it came out great. Most of the time was spent on the areas around the bolt holes where I sanded on some scratches. Would the emery/spiral cut faster than the green/spiral? I didn't do much of the aluminum, I was getting alot of chatter from the 10" wheel. Going to try a new wheel I just got in today and I'll let you know how it goes there. Have a good weekend!
