  • Abrasive wheel system, or Expanding wheel?

Which one do ya'll recommend? Does one have an advantage over the other, or am I compairing apples to oranges? Thanks for any input.

Never used the expanding wheel. The setup wheel I find extremely aggressive since the glue dries pretty hard (gets a little softer with use).

I tried a flap wheel on aluminum and found it useless - wears out too fast.

The inflatable drums are awesome because they're soft enough to flatten out and not leave ripples, but firm enough that you can really bear down on them.

The expander wheel looks like it would also be quite aggressive even with finer grits. Dunno, I guess I'll just have to buy both of them and find out. Where might a person get that inflatable wheel you're reffering to? Thanks for the reply.

Can't say here, but do a google for inflatable drum sander. If you have problems, private message me and I'll hook you up. They come in different sizes and they are dynamite. I even make my own sleeves with sandpaper and duct tape so they are cheap to use. I was going to build a belt sander but I think a couple of these will do nicely.
