  • cleaning brass before clear coat.

Ok, I'm new to the buffing stuff and have read a ton. I have the piece cleaned polished and buffed and am ready to spray the clear coat. But as much as I?ve read I haven't found any advice on cleaning the brass after it's been buffed. I would think the wrong cleaner and your back to buffing.

So my question is what to use to clean the brass before I spay the clear coat?

P.S. I've already made the mistake of not cleaning before spraying the clear coat. What a disaster.

    Thanks
    Rick

Ok, what kind of break cleaner are we talking about here? I've used wheel cleaner that is suppose to remove brake dust. But I've never used a brake cleaner.

It's a spray similar to carb. cleaner but much cheaper.
