Cobalt plating stainless steel

Can the Caswell Cobalt plating kit be used directly on stainless steel? I have a stainless steel Glock pistol slide that I would like to cobalt plate.

You would need to plate with copper first then Cobalt.

If you need a larger than 8OZ you will need to look into what's called woods nickel strike(acidic Nickel Chloride bath), lays a nice Nickel layer ontop of Stainless Steel so other metals like Cobalt can be plated ontop.
