  • Need some help making RED fish hooks

I am trying to get info on coloring some Nickled fishing hooks red. I am new to this forum and have no clue as to what my options are. I am looking at doing them by anywhere from 100 or 1000 at a time if possible. Is there a chemical I can dip them in to turn them a bright red? I know it can be done because I see them on store shelves, I just don't know how it's done.

Anodizing? isn't that just for aluminum.

I need a durable finish for obvious reasons, and paint is out of the question. I really want to sort of "stain" them a bright red if it's possible.

I know you guys can help me out.

    Thanks

    A little more info

I talked with someone and got a little (very little) info.

Does the word "dycam", "dycan" or something that sounds like that. They were unaware of the correct spelling. I was told that was how the hooks are colored red.

Please, any help would be great!
