I noticed in the archives that there are many references to Carnuba wax. Why just Carnuba? (carnuba is a type of palm tree. They use it to make all sorts of things, and several different types of wax.)

What about car wax? Why not just go down to the auto store and get a can of Turtle Wax or similar?

This is a general sort of question. Refers to generally decorative finishes to aluminum, copper and brass.

    Anybody?

*Just looked at the can. It isn't so natural as bee wax... It's a blend of naphta 50%, terpentine 20% and bee wax 5-15 %.
the carnuba wax we are talking about is a high grade wax that pro auto detailers use .. all them wax's from the auto parts stores are watered down and when you apply them to the polish it smears bad .. caswell got flitz and zoop. to seal the polish . with bee's wax i never tryed it i will give it a try ( i am up to try any thing ) but on my show car i use carnuba and i got 5 best of show 6 best engine and 2 best over all in my class....

you can try it out and keep us posted with the results
