chrome plating

you should look at the caswell site for the info and chrome kits. as for doing a pistol i am a part time gunsmith, that said chrome plating will cause a tolerance build up that could, i repeat could cause the pistol to be to tight to fit back together or worse it fits but is to tight in the action and can cause a dangerous pressure build upwhen shot (semi-auto). if the pistol is for display only go for it. if not you should research the plating process and verify the build up of the plating. then have a competent gunsmith check the tolerances on the handgun to verify it will handle the plating thickness. best of luck.when in doubt polish it out/ why replace it when you can refinish it
