  • Titanium exhaust painting

I am hoping to paint the aftermarket exhaust on my R-1 with VHT flameproof spraypaint. I have never worked with Titanium before and have a few prep questions. I have access to a sandblaster, should I use that or just hand sand it? Is there any surface prep or primer that I must do/use so that 200 miles down the road the paint doesn't flake off. Thankyou for any advice. matt

Best thing to do is see what the manufacturer recommends. Blasting would probably be the best prep as long as it is not too coarse. Priming is not usually done in high temp. applications. SS
