Anyone know of a cheaper gun than the nordsons and wagner peices that are $3000+? I know there is the Hot Coat Pro gun at around $700...is there any others i'm missing cheaper but of better craftsmenship than the hobby guns? The hobby guns work nicely, but i'm always looking to upgrade. Has anyone had experience with the Hot Coat Pro Gun or know of a place i can purchase a better quality gun? Thanks

E-Bay would be a good place to start too.
rivermasternc: Thanks for the great info you've been posting lately, but dont' forget that most of the folks here are strictly hobbyists and don't have access to stuff like trade magazines.--

True, true. There seems to be somewhat of a price/quality void between the hobby gun and the commercial equipment. I'm curently getting quotes on commercial equipment to address the problem I listed in another post http://www.caswellplating.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?t=1031. A quick look tells me we will be spending somewhere in the $5K to $7K range. Some of the manufacturer's offer "lab" sized units, primarily for sales persons and R&D. I have not priced these, but would speculate the will also be in the multiples of $1K.
I have no specific knowledge of used commercial equipment for sale. Batch (non-automatic stand alone) spray equipment will probably be more difficult to locate.J. Scott Moncrief
