Can you coat magnesium?

I thought i read somewhere that you can not powder coat magnesium, is this true?

Yes, you can coat magnesium, i have done it many times.

One thing to add to that, magnesium does burn, I mean BURN all by iteself, self combust. So just to be on the safe side, do the cure at a lower temp and just a longer time. I am not sure when it will combust, but I know I use 340 degrees and do it just fine.

I've machined magnesium on a lathe before and put all the metal shaving in a pile and lit it. It sure was a spetacular fireworks display in the middle of the shop. I don't recomend doing this though, just trust me, it looked pretty cool.
