I dont think your tailpipes will be getting that hot that far downstream of the heads....std. powdercoating should be fine. Other guys on the board here have painted intake manifold, valve covers etc with standard powders and never had a problem.

I have painted tailpipes with 500 deg paint before and never had a problem with overheating.

If your interested, Eastwood and other powder suppliers now have powder capable of withstanding 1000 degrees....desgned for header and manifold coating. they dont have a chrome powder but they do have aluminum.

    Powdercoated Exhausts?

Is it possible to powder coat automotive tailpipes with chrome? I was thinking the temperature might get too hot.
Working...
