Is there any reason that i shouldn't use aluminium for a oven build. I can get .060ga materials very cheap. this is for the inside and outside walls. As for the stud wall......using metal studs from HD.
    Thanks,
    Hump.

The problem I have that can occur is that the expansion rate for aluminum is much higher than for steel when both are heated to the same temperature. With that said, remember that you are attaching (with rivets, I assume) the aluminum sheets to the steel studs. From another perspective, the aluminum sheets are expanding to a greater degree than the studs to which they are attached. I have heard other people complain about this expansion problem. Expect warpage, heat loss through the gaps, and rivets getting loose. Good luck,

    Carlos
