  • Powder is cracking

Can someone tell me whats wrong here. I put some Translucent Gold on a truck shifter and on a gun frame and the next day the powder was cracked but didn't peel off. what could it be. could the cold do this. it was 11deg here last night and both was outside in the truck. i never had this happen to me before. And i just powdered some Gold on 4 rims for someone. don't know if the rims made it yet. guess i will find out today.

Sounds like it is under cured. Try bakeing it again and see if the cracks go away.

That may be true. the shifter had a pice of rubber in it and i didn't want to leave it in there to long. and the gun fell while it was in the oven maybe i took it out to soon too...i hope thats all it is...i don't want to have to do them rims agin.

Yep, undercure. I used to have the same problem with clear coats and translucents. Now i let them cure a little longer to prevent this.
