  • wanting to get started in powdercoating

    i would about 99% be doing atv parts, so largest would be a frame, what do you reccomend i have nothing but the place to do it
    i mean gun everything, what all do i have to have to get started and where is a reasonable place to get it

    ok ive anwsered most of my own questions with the forum,
    but im still unsure about what size compressor i would need?
    also does the bead or sand blaster work better, is it preference

      Invest in the future and definately get a 2 phase unit (240V). And make sure it is NOT an oil less compressor. Tank size around 40 to 60 gallon. Motor about 5 to 7 hp should be fine for now.

      There was a lengthy thread about compressor about a month and a half ago. I'm pretty sure if you do a search you should find it.

          my other concern is the ir lamps- people on here keep saying theres dont work , for my situation the lamp would be alot better than the oven if it worked

                      can you buy the propane tanks from sears or wal mart or anywhere , like for the grills or do you have to go to a gas company

                            hi brandonpeake,
                            i bought 60gal, 7hp, 2cylinder,135 hp max, Campbell hausfeld compressor. it puts out 11.8 scfm@40psi & 10.3 scfm @ 90 pi. & it cost me $399 at lowes
                            hope this helps. P.S. it is 230volt
