  • 700 DEG. TEMPS

    i have a cast iron pot that is use on top of a wood burning stove, filled with water for the humidity. i would like to powder coat it in black.... any suggestions on what the best powder to use. temps get up to 700 d. thanks, ron

    You will need a High Temp powder...silicone based. Its limited in tone, so its either flat black, or matt type black i believe and good to 1000 degrees i think.

      yeap.... Caswell has a "header black" high temp silicone based powder that would be fine for that.


      ( p.s. ~ add some cinnamon sticks and orange peel to the water, it adds a nice smell to the whole house. Used to do that when I was a kid and we had a wood burning stove. Vanilla extract also works well )
