  • Small quanities from HB Fuller....

Did I reach them on a bad day, or what??
I got their color wheel and found a close match for my '66 Buick red engine color.....Lipstick red # IF56030. I spoke to Mr Caswell, he doesn't yet stock this color, so I called HB Fuller.....and requested a 3 lb sample. The sales rep told me
'It wasn't worth their time, since they can't make any money on it'
    ?!!!!!
Is this company policy or did I reach the wrong rep on a bad day? Has anyone sucessfully obtained samples from them, or am I wasting my time with this company? I could use the name of someone there I could specifly ask for that will actually care about helping me out. I really need this color, so I'm in somewhat of a bind....

Sorry they are a comercial supplier. You will find that there are alot of suppliers out there with this policy.

What you did was walk into McDonalds and ask them for ONE french fry! And then want to pay with a credit card!

However, I think you got the picture! H B Fuller aren't interested in dealing with 3lbs of product. It isn't even worth their time talking to you.

Now, that's where we come in. We buy Fuller's product and repackage it. No you're not getting it for $4 lb from us, because it costs us money in time and packaging to do all this. Our price is $11 lb (Eastwood's is MUCH more).

There's more meat on the bone for us, and we can afford to spend more time looking after you, but don't push your luck!

That 3lb free sample is going to cost you $33

Fuller can't afford to give every amateur powdercoater 3lbs of powder, nor can we.

Are you saying you (Caswell) DO have this color presently available? Lipstick Red #IF56030.....
(couldn't they have named it something else ....'yeah, it's a dual quad, 425 Buick nailhead making 400 horse...uuhhh, powdercoated in Lipstick red'.... )

I understand your point about a manufacturer not selling in small quantities.... I did read on this board 3 lb samples were available from HB Fuller....But apparently only as a 'sample' of a larger purchase...not as an outright purchase.

Nope! We're not saying we have it in stock. Look at the color chart on the webpage for in-stock colors.

          If it's not there:

email [email protected] and ask him if he'll get the color in for you.
